Most of its people inhabit in flats. Some buildings have fifty or fewer apartments whereas some of them have more than a hundred flats.
Last month we had a week-long visit to Karachi. It was arranged by our college. Our teacher Mr. Athar Ali headed the trip which gave us an opportunity to have clear and vivid observation of the vast spread Karachi.
On Monday we reached the railway station and bought tickets and boarded the train. The journey took a day and a night to reach the city. We had fun during train travel. On Tuesday at 7 P.M we were at the Karachi Railway station. We had heard from many people about Karachi, yet it was the time to see, by ourselves its magnificence. We had some slight glimpses of the city, building, traffic people and their activities by going to the Govt. college hostel where there was an arrangement for our accommodation.
The first day we took rest. The following day we got up early and went to the Quaid-e-Azam tomb to pay homage to the great leader. We also went to see the residence of the Quaid-e-Azam where many of his usable were in the display for people.
We saw many other places and buildings in keen observation, enquiring about the teacher of different things. Then we came back. Our teacher proposed that we go to Clifton Beach, the next day. We had dreamy of that splendid sight of the ocean for long. It was a scene worth seeing. The grey surface of water stretched to the last extent of sight.
Scores of people were enjoying their recreational walks and talks. To have seen some people swimming in the water, we also put our clothes off and jumped into it and enjoyed swimming as long as we wanted. We also had a delicious lunch at the Beach Snack and drank beverages. We strolled at the beach till late in the event and enjoyed the guests of winding.
The next day we visited the National Museum and watched the ancient tools and weapons and lots more antiques. In the afternoon of the same day, we went to see the Karachi Zoo. We had got very tired on that day. We returned to the hostel and ate our dinner which made us so sleep that we immediately went to sleep.
The next morning was scheduled to visit the State Bank of Pakistan We were very much impressed to see the eleven storied building of State Bank of Pakistan. The same day we also visited Manora Island.
Another day was spent on the walking tour of the markets, hotels, buildings which added a lot more to our knowledge about the city. The week was spent but we thirsted for sight scanning. Finally, our teacher ordered for a pack up to leave for Lahore.
